Early Life

Robert Baldwin was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1950. He developed his poker skills in Oklahoma card rooms before moving to Las Vegas to pursue the game professionally. His intelligence and analytical approach quickly set him apart from recreational players, and he rose through the ranks of professional poker during the 1970s.

Rise to Fame

Baldwin won the 1978 WSOP Main Event at just 28 years old, defeating veteran Crandell Addington heads-up for the title.
